5 Weeks old!

g: "What would you like me to post on the blog?"
k: "I don't know. Everything blurs together."

It's true... things have run together and it is hard to believe that Ada is now 5 weeks old. We had a our first flakes of snow today, it is dark at 4:30, and school is starting its Winter term. It seems like last week that we were road tripping around the Pacific Northwest with big questions and hopes for our baby on the way... time is whizzing by.

We had a fantastic Thanksgiving holiday with both families celebrating together in Foxborough. We are still struggling with sleepless nights and long periods of fussiness but are thankful for all of the joys of new being new parents.

Ada had her one month check up and all is well! She is up to 8 pounds 10 ounces and is in the middle of the percentiles for all the measurements that were taken. Mercifully, the doctor said we no longer need to wake her up to force her to feed every three hours throughout the night! She is starting to smile more and has taken to really arching her back, kicking, and lifting her little head to crane around for a view! Cloth diapering is going well and she took her first bottle last week. We are getting better at the nuts and bolts of living with Ada and love seeing her grow and change with every passing week!

One Month

The last four weeks have been a blur! It is astounding that Monday will be Ada's one month birthday! She has a doctors appointment in a couple of days and we will give an update then- but it is clear that she is growing and gaining weight. She has a couple chins that she wasn't born with and some of her clothes are starting to get tight! We have gotten better at functioning on interrupted sleep and are gracious for the consistent help from our family and friends. We have a new appreciation for the adage that "It takes a village..."

"We loved that picture of Ada from the slide show! How can we print it?"

How to print your own copy of the pictures in the slide shows

1. Locate the posting that contains the slide show that you want pictures from. Hold your mouse over the lower left hand corner of the slide show window and you will see the underlined name of the slide show appear in blue. Click on the name to take you to the slide show at the online photo hosting site Picasa.

2. Click the downward facing arrow next to the word “Prints” near the top of the screen and select “Order Prints” from the menu that drops down.

3. Select the prints that you would like to print. All photos from the slideshow are automatically added but you can remove shots from your print order by clicking the remove button below the thumbnails.

4. Choose a print provider: on the left side of the screen, choose a service to print your order. If you want to choose a different service, click on the “Select a different provider” text and choose the provider of your choice. Note that each service offers different benefits- some have local pickup, some are cheap, some offer printing on mugs etc. The idea is that you can select the service that best meets your needs.

5. Click the blue button on the left side of the screen labeled “Continue to Print Provider.”

6. At this point your order will be automatically sent to the service you selected and you will be asked to finalize and verify your order, enter your personal and payment information.

7. Good luck and we are flattered that you want to print our pictures!

Week +1!

Here is our first family picture! We know you will be sad to say "good bye" to the weekly belly shots, but we hope that you will enjoy the upcoming adventures of Ada just as much! Thank you for the outpouring of love and support we have received over this last week. If they only sold sleep in a bottle... While we are exhausted, we love getting to know our new daughter and learning about ourselves as parents.
